KVPY 2016 - The national level fellowship programme in Basic Sciences, KVPY is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. KVPY 2016 Aptitude Test is scheduled to be conducted on November 6, 2016 in online mode and the applications for the same begins from July 18, 2016.
The KVPY fellowship/scholarship programme, which is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is held to attract and motivate students across the country to pursue a research career and basic science education. The students can apply for the KVPY 2016 till August 30, 2016.

KVPY 2016 Selection Procedure - The candidates are to go through two stages of selection procedure – Aptitude Test and Interview. After a scrutiny of the application forms, the eligible candidates are called for a written aptitude test.

Students of Class X and XII from both government and private schools are eligible for KVPY 2016 scholarship programme. Only Indian National candidates are eligible for the KVPY fellowships/scholarships. Students who want to pursue their education in India in the undergraduate courses as listed below are eligible for the KVPY programme.
To provide scholarships, the exam conducting authority selects students of class XI to first year of undergraduate programme in Basic Sciences – B.Sc/B.S/B.Stat/B.Math/Int. M.Sc/M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
KVPY 2016 Application Form - KVPY 2016 application process starts from July 18 and continue till August 30, 2016. The candidates are required to fill in online application forms along with remitting the requisite fee.

KVPY 2016 Exam Pattern - The candidates can appear in the aptitude test in either for format – computer-based and paper-pen mode. A total of 80 questions are asked for SA stream and 120 questions for SB/SX stream to answer in the OMR-sheet. There is no prescribed syllabus for the aptitude test, but students are tested according to their syllabus of Class X/XII/First year of B.Sc/B.S/B.Stat/B.Math/Int. M.Sc/M.S, whatever is applicable.

KVPY 2016 Admit Card - The exam body issues the admit card of KVPY 2016 for the eligible candidates two weeks before the exam. The candidates must download the admit card as soon as it is available online. No candidates without a valid admit card is allowed to appear in the test.
KVPY 2016 Result - The exam authority announces the result of KVPY 2016 for aptitude test tentatively one month after the exam. The students, who are shortlisted from the aptitude test, are informed and called for the interview round. Final result is announced after the completion of both the stages of selection procedure.
